Vintage Pueblo Spiny Oyster Shell Pin Pendant With Inlay Eagle Dancer

Here's a rare vintage New Mexico Pueblo pin pendant of an orange spiny oyster shell inlaid with a detailed eagle dancer, wings spread wide and spinning under a turquoise sky.

All handmade, the colorful figural pin is framed by an elegant silver border. 

If you watch a little bit of this eagle dance from Cochiti Pueblo, you'll appreciate how the artist of this pin/pendant was able to beautifully capture the regalia and the movement of the dancers on just a little shell using only turquoise, coral, jet and more shell. It's pretty amazing.  

This pin/pendant is likely Zuni made because of the complex inlay. It measures 2 5/8" high x 2 1/2" wide and the depth is 3/4". It has a long silver shepherd's hook so you can attach it to a nice handmade silver chain. Unsigned.
