Vintage Zuni Inlay Blue Jay Men's Ring

When my mom and dad were newly married, they spent the whole summer high in the mountains of New Mexico where they became friends with a wild blind blue jay that they named Oscar. My father was a strong man and powerful in his presence, a crack shot and a skilled horseman, but he was gentle in his love for little creatures like blind blue jays.

Here we have a little blue jay like Oscar sitting in a heavy sterling silver ring just waiting for the right man to come along and notice his beauty.

This vintage Zuni ring depicts a bluejay out of mosaic inlay stones like turquoise, shell and coral set against a white oval mother of pearl background.

The sterling silver setting is plain but very substantial. It's stamped on either side for a little extra bit of decoration. 

The cheerful ring and its creative use of natural materials shifts our focus, just for a moment, back to the splendor of the natural world. 

It's a size 11 1/4 with a 1 1/8" face, so it's fantastic for even a rugged dude who's secure enough to sport a little turquoise birdie.
