Vintage Turquoise Pendant With Large Silver Bail
Vintage Turquoise Pendant With Large Silver Bail
Simple and pretty as can be is this vintage turquoise pendant set in silver with a stamped silver bail. Unlike many a pendant, the silver bail on this one has an opening of 3/8" in diameter, so it can be worn with more than little chains.
It looks great with 1/4" Navajo pearls, coral tubes, turquoise or white clam shell heishi, so it's has lots of versatility. The pendant itself hangs 2 1/8" from top of bail to bottom and the turquoise stone measures 1" x 1".
The pendant is from the collection of a life-long Native American jewelry collector. The handmade piece is very likely Navajo made although it is unsigned besides being stamped sterling.
The pendant is pictured on a necklace by the sweetest collaboration: a vintage heishi necklace by THE Joe. B. Reano of Kewa Pueblo working with his granddaughter Briana Reano. Notice the single hand carved coral tulip bead. Necklace is sold separately.
