Vintage Turquoise and White Shell Choker Necklace

As the owner of Turquoise & Tufa, I've been in the business for almost two decades, and I've seen a lot of different choker necklaces. This one in particular is after my own heart because of the fantastic hand-shaped green turquoise barrel beads. They're everything! 

On either side of the necklace, each of the turquoise beads gets slightly larger as you move towards the center of the choker with the center bead being the largest. Round white shells are the only other accents. 

There's just so much character in nice old beads. Not to get Santa Fe woo woo on you, but if you put this necklace on and close your eyes, you'll feel the energy of the piece. That's not something you can say with most necklaces out there.

The necklace is Navajo or Pueblo made - it's likely from Kewa Pueblo. It comes from a New York collection of fine Native American jewelry. Measures 17 1/4" from end to end, and the length of the center bead is 3/4" with a 1/2" diameter.
