This dear vintage pin is from the private collection of Martha Struever.

It was handmade by New Mexico artist George Stumpff who lived from 1940-2019. It's a rare piece as you don't find much of his jewelry. Stumpff last lived high in the beautiful mountains of Cow Creek near Pecos, New Mexico. The breathtaking scenery there inspired his landscape and wildlife paintings as well as his lovely jewelry. In fact, Stumpff created original jewelry for more than 50 years! He started in his teens.

This little pin is an eye catching shape with its horizontal points and outstanding stamped border that nicely frames the luscious deep dark green turquoise stone.

This little treasure measures 1 3/8" across and 13/16" tall, so it's the perfect size for a hat, a bag, or a little grouping of jewelry on your shirt or jacket.

The pin is hallmarked on the reverse and is one of two George Stumpff pieces that Martha Struever kept in her personal jewelry collection.
