Vintage Route 66 Beaded Thunderbird Hat Band Martha Struever Collection

Now's your chance to acquire a piece from Martha Struever's own collection for less than $100! This one is part of her little stash of Native American seed bead accessories in colors and/or styles that she enjoyed.

This vintage hand-stitched hat band is in a thunderbird design - a FAVORITE of tourists to the American Southwest. The hat band is done in standout blue and green colors with red and even gold accent beads. The beads are satin to black satin ribbons so that you can tie the hat band on.

If you don't wear hats, not to worry, you can use it as a headband too. This nostalgic piece measures 35 1/2" from end to end. It's in excellent vintage condition and is likely Navajo made. Styles like this one were collected all along the route 66 tourist shops.
