About the Piece:
Some earrings absolutely come alive when they're dancing on your ears. This is one such pair! In fact, I've thought long and hard about keeping them after I put them on for an Instagram presentation and fell madly in love.
The dangle earrings of silver and turquoise are a vintage pair by Navajo jeweler Paul Begay. They're big and showy with their elongated triangular turquoise stones decorated by hand stamped silver scallop work. Just delicious as can be if you're a fan of larger earrings.Â
They're Navajo revival in style as Paul Begay worked with Harry Morgan much-beloved for his classic Navajo designs. Besides the design and the purposeful oxidation, even the turquoise stones themselves look like the type you'd find in earlier work.Â
These earrings dangle 2 5/8" from top of wire x 1 3/16", and they have lovely presence. Signed on the reverse, the earrings are from a significant New York City collection.
