In the 2025 edition of Turquoise & Tufa's Native American jewelry catalog were two spoons from the private collection of Santa Fe dealer Martha Hopkins Struever. They sold immediately because they were charming and from Marti Struever's own sought-after collection.

This vintage Navajo silver spoon is a third from Martha Struever's private collection. Another whimsical spoon, it depicts a Yei figure and was made by Frances Jones in the 1960's.

Not only was this spoon good enough for Marti's collection, it's good enough for the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. Check out this link, and you'll find two that are strikingly similar in the museum's holdings. What fun!

Something else that's fun, another similar spoon was one listed for sale online by someone unfamiliar with Navajo jewelry, and it was described as depicting a Renaissance style jester, joker character. (insert laughing crying emoji).

It would be neat to purchase this one, and then search for others so you can have a little set and use them for a tea party.

Spoon measures 4 1/8" long x 15/16" wide and is signed on the reverse.
