One-of-a-kind thimbles are a fun thing to collect - whether you sew or not.

Turquoise & Tufa has received a tiny collection of handmade Native American thimbles. They originally belonged to Martha Hopkins Struever, the well-known Native American art dealer and scholar. Marti Struever wrote two gorgeous art books on Charles Loloma and Dextra Quotskuyva. Marti also enjoyed sewing and needlepoint, so she had a large collection of antique and vintage thimbles. There were just a few Native American made ones in her collection.

Marti Struever was known for having some of the best style this side of the Mississippi, so if this thimble was good enough to adorn her beautifully manicured fingers, you know it'll look great on yours as well.

This one is a vintage Navajo thimble of sterling silver set with a tiny turquoise stone, stamp work and a silver rope work border. The top is a diamond lattice pattern. This sweet thimble measures 7/8" tall with a 5/8" diameter opening for the finger.
