About the Piece: Vintage Navajo Silver Hair Barrette With Repousse and Stamping
Here's a different type of handmade Native American jewelry - it's a vintage Navajo silver hair barrette with repousse and stamp work from the estate of a long-time Native American jewelry collector in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The face of the barrette is a nice large oval with copious amounts of floral stamp work and repousse leaves. The stamp work is is wonderfully imperfect and still magical. There are even sunflowers (or maybe they're daisies).
It measures 3 1/2" x 2".
The barrette itself is a quality design (Made in France) that has been soldered to the silver face. It won't be large enough to hold all your hair, but it's enough to pull the sides of your hair back and wear at the back of your head.
The piece is unsigned.
