One could argue that great design is always in style no matter when it originated.

Take this vintage Navajo bracelet, for example. It likely dates circa 1990, but it harkens back to a much older traditional Navajo design. The heavy silver bracelet is sandcast and set with a single square turquoise stone centerpiece. Surrounding the turquoise is silver rope work and tiny star stamped silver beads. The turquoise bracelet is as chic and fashionable today as it ever was.

Encircling the wrist are five parallel silver bands decorated at the top and bottom by an undulating silver pattern that can be seen on early bow guards and on some of the historic cuffs by sought-after masters like Juan Dideos. It's a dramatic early design elegantly re-imagined by a somewhat more recent Navajo artist. The matte silver is oxidized for even more of an eye-catching effect.

The Navajo bracelet measures 5 5/16" inside with a 1 1/8" opening. The width is 1 1/4".

Signed on the reverse "sterling" with an arrowhead stamp.

From a much-beloved collection.
