San Juan Pueblo jeweler Mike Bird Romero has this special gift of creating both highly contemporary jewelry as well other jewelry that clearly harkens back to the more traditional roots of Native American jewelry technique and design. He walks with grace between the different eras.

This vintage pair of Mike Bird Romero earrings is one that evokes earlier design elements in an updated manner with its repousse diamonds and dangling silver drops highlighting orange spiny oyster shell settings.

The earrings are all at once eye-catching and delightful to wear. After all, there's nothing like a great pair of dangle earrings to frame your face and remind you of how beautiful you are with every little of the head as you go about your day.

We don't often find Mike Bird Romero's long dangles, and it's exciting when we do.

These measure a full 3 1/4" long from top of hook to bottom of silver drops, and they're 1/2" wide. They're posts for pierced ears and hallmarked on the reverse. They're left with a slight vintage patina, which adds to their mystique, but they'll be shipped to you with polishing cloth if you'd rather have them looking shiny and new.

These are being included in Turquoise & Tufa's vintage Navajo and Pueblo earring show so that you can see what talented Native American jewelers of today are doing with the inspiration of early earring forms.
