Here's a little wintery Navajo hogan scene to make part of your holiday display.

The Navajo folk art ornament is by Leo Benally. It's handmade of wood and painted. With this darling little miniature, you'll see a round hogan covered in freshly fallen snow with a green wagon and a tree out front. It's hard to see from the photo, but there are even little sparkles in the snow.

We can only imagine a sweet Navajo family inside staying warm by fire that's vented out the little chimney at the top of the hogan. If they need more wood for the fire, there's a pile just outside the door.

This charming ornament isn't something you'd pick up at a department store. It's much more meaningful than that as it conveys the warmth of traditional Diné life.

It measures 1 3/4" diameter x 1 1/2" tall. Signed on the bottom, it's from the private Christmas ornament collection of Native American art dealer, collector and scholar Martha Struever.
