About the Piece:

How pretty are these vintage Navajo turquoise earrings!

The handmade earrings are done in a strong design that highlights traditional Navajo techniques. There's a shadowbox setting which makes each brilliantly blue turquoise stone stand out. The delicious stones are matched in color, but they each have their own matrix and personality. The earrings also have interesting sunburst stamp work that draws the eye up to the top silver point. Then, they gently round at the bottom beneath the ear and finish with three silver beads - one of them stamped.

You'll wear these again and again with everything from Navajo pearls to white clam shell heishi from Kewa Pueblo.

The earrings were converted to posts for pierced ears. They measure about 1 3/8" x 1/2" and are unsigned.

They're from a prominent collection of Native American jewelry, many pieces from the collection went to the Art Institute of Chicago.
