Vintage Hand Beaded Zuni Santa Bunny Ornament

The younger kids would say that this ornament from Martha Struever's private Christmas ornament collection is diabolical. That's because it's a Santa bunny - basically an Easter bunny wearing a Santa suit. 

Santa Bunny's Zuni maker had a fantastic sense of humor, and Marti Struever did too.

Martha Struever loved the folk art of Zuni beadwork. She collected all kinds of different whimsical beaded Zuni figures and tried to spread the news far and wide about how great this form of artistry is. 

Santa bunny is hand-beaded of colorful seed beads all the way from his black boots to his red eyes and little Christmas wreath.

He measures 3" x 2" and is signed on the bottom of his little white furry foot.
