Some Native American jewelry collectors out there are just crazy about turquoise from the Bisbee mine. This vintage Navajo pin/pendant is set with just such turquoise.

The piece is by Navajo jeweler Paul Begay, and it holds a single elongated Bisbee turquoise stone surrounded by complex stamping and repousse.

You'll get mileage with this piece since it can be worn a myriad of ways as a brooch or as a pendant. If you choose to wear it as a brooch, the detachable silver bail has a large 1/2" opening, so you can wear it with your Navajo pearls, or your hanging from turquoise beads. Either way, there's lots of great looks.

Here's a way to get even more different looks with this piece: the bail attaches to the pin, so you can remove it and attach it to any other pin you might have. Think of the possibilities!

As a brooch, piece measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/8" while as a pendant with the bail included, it measures an impressive 3 1/2" long.

Signed on the reverse P.A. Begay.
