Redware Jar By Russell Sanchez With Etched Bears, Fish and Mountains

This redware jar by innovative master potter Russel Sanchez of San Ildefonso Pueblo depicts elements of New Mexico that have certainly captured our hearts - mountains, bears and fish are carefully incised into the hand-coiled and traditionally fired work. The stunning jar is composed with contrasting textures, finely polished smooth like the New Mexico waters but also coarse like the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The piece measures 5 3/4" tall x 4 3/4" wide. It is signed on the reverse.
