Rare Early Vintage Tommy Singer Chip Inlay Turquoise and Coral Copper Bracelet
Rare Early Vintage Tommy Singer Chip Inlay Turquoise and Coral Copper Bracelet
There was definitely a time when Navajo chip inlay jewelry lost its appeal, but the pendulum is swinging back and newer collectors are drawn to this 1970's phenomenon - especially the work of Tommy Singer credited with being the originator of chip inlay.
As with so much in art and design, there's good and bad chip inlay. Tommy Singer's is head and shoulders above the rest because it's often heavier weight coupled with nice stamp work and intriguing designs.Â
This eye-catching and nicely weighted copper cuff is an early piece by Tommy Singer, and the design is outstanding. Perfectly balanced, there's a big turquoise X smack dab in the middle of the bracelet flanked on either side by coral arrow motifs. You don't find much of his copper anymore, so this one is exciting!Â
If you only add ONE chip inlay piece to your collection, let this one be it! Then again, it might be hard to stop at just one.
The bracelet measures 5 5/8" inside plus a 1" opening. Width is 5/8" and bracelet is signed on the inside.
By the way, don't forget to mix your metals!
