Polished Miniature Vase by Hopi Pottery Polingaysi Qoyawayma or Elizabeth White
Here's a gorgeous miniature vase by the late Hopi artist Polingaysi Qöyawayma or Elizabeth White.
The sculptural jar is finely polished and just exquisite. It's only 3 1/4" high x 2" across, but it has an elegance about it much larger than its actual size.
It has only one area that is painted - a faint jagged line perhaps representing lightning that moves down the front of the vase.
From the private miniature pottery collection of Martha Hopkins Struever, who had a special affinity for Hopi pottery.
Signed on the bottom.
