Unspoken stories of the distant past endure simply through the elegance of fine old Navajo jewelry. Some pieces speak volumes just through their presence alone.

This old estate Navajo bracelet with its single large turquoise stone is one such piece. The unique rectangular shaped turquoise stone is front row and center. The hunk of turquoise rock is completely unpolished, just shaped and set as is. Accented by a dainty rectangular border of tiny sterling silver raindrop beads and rope work, that would be enough to create a stellar bracelet, and yet its Navajo creator gave even more.

The ornate silver work around the sides of the bracelet is impeccable and wholly captivating with more beads, buttons and stamping in all the right places. It exists in a lovely contrast to the large, unpolished stone in the front of the piece. There's masculine and feminine here, heaviness and lightness - the yin and yang of opposing forces that harmoniously converge.

This honey of a turquoise bracelet came from the estate of a lifelong southwestern jewelry collector. She lived for her trips out west with her husband, where together they returned again and again over the years, falling more and more in love with each other, the land, its Native people, and their artistry.

The bracelet measures 5 3/8" inside plus a 1 1/8" opening. The width is 1 3/4" and the center stone measures a full 2" x 1 1/2".

There is an old but secure repair on the inside of the bracelet and the handwritten price from at least a decade ago is still written on the reverse of the piece.
