This is a small silver belt buckle from early in the career of Navajo jeweler Norbert Peshlakai. The diminutive buckle depicts a Pueblo scene of silver overlay complete with horno, ladder and large olla contrasted against a textured sky. Really, the buckle is genius!
It's from the private, personal collection of American Indian art dealer and scholar Martha Hopkins Struever.
The buckle measures 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" and fits a 1" belt. It's signed with Norbert Peshlakai's hallmark.
