Contemporary Navajo or Pueblo Figural Pin of Silver and Bone

How expressive is the sweet face on this contemporary Navajo or Pueblo pin. The face is hand carved out of bone and attached to a a tufa cast sterling silver body decorated with hand prints and silver beads.

The pin is entirely unique and full of Indigenous spirit. It's from the Native American jewelry collection of a long-time supporter of Indigenous arts. In fact, this collector spent more than a decade attending Martha Struever's famous Southwest art field trips year after year.

Since this one-of-a-kind figural brooch is unsigned, it's unclear which artist created it. 

The pin stands 2 7/8" tall x 7/8" across.
