There's not a whole lot of holiday ornaments that you can also wear as jewelry. This elegant olla ornament by Kewa Pueblo jeweler and M.I.A.C. Living Treasure Anthony Lovato IS an ornament you can wear as a striking pendant. Even more significant, though, it was created for a charitable cause, and charity is the real meaning behind the holiday season.

The ornament is made of pewter from Anthony Lovato's original design with an ear of corn and the Futures For Children logo. It was created in 1995 as part of Futures for Children's holiday fundraising effort.

Futures for Children is a nonprofit organization based in Albuquerque, New Mexico whose mission is:

“To improve the quality of the educational experience for American Indian students through leadership development and mentoring.”

This ornament is a rare one. It was created for something meaningful, and it's from Martha Struever's private collection. While I don't know that she ever wore it as a pendant, it's high time that someone does so.

Ornament measures 3 3/8" x 1 1/2" it's signed and dated on the reverse.
