1940's Zuni Rainbow Man Pin

Here is a very well done sterling silver Zuni Rainbow Man pin or brooch dating circa 1940's. The unusual pin was handcrafted with fine mosaic inlay. The head and body show especially good lapidary work including "polka dots" - the inlay is small and precise. The tableta is set entirely of natural turquoise, which gives a nice, clean look. Also of note, the pin is created without the often used silver bead and rope work making the piece appear somewhat more refined. We're thinking the rainbow man is soon to arch his way into someone's heart.

The pin is unsigned, which is characteristic of the period. It measures 2 5/8" across x 1 3/8" at the widest.
