House cats are not exactly traditional Zuni fetishes, but this tall and slender kitty cat hand carved by Kenny Chavez sure is alluring.
Even though she was born in a tiny New Mexico Pueblo, she considers herself a contemporary city feline - I mean, how many kitties do you know who wear an inlaid necklace? She goes by the name Celestine. She'll be content as long as she's displayed for all to admire, but she's really hoping for a trip to Paris where you'll place her in the window of your pied-à-terre.
Celestine's not shy about her measurements, for she knows she's every bit as elegant as those Parisian models she's hoping to encounter from your window. She's a hair under 2" tall and 3/8" wide. She bears her maker's signature and she's from the beloved collection of another fashion model, not from Paris but from New York City.
