This substantial buckle is handmade of channel set inlay turquoise in silver. It's created in a "hummingbird" motif by Sherman and Isabelle Paquin of Zuni Pueblo.

You'll find their outstanding jewelry in the Phyllis Hersh Collection at the National Museum of the American Indian.

This buckle is singular in its heavy weight and bold design. You likely won't find another, so when you put this on, you'll immediately exude an unparalleled sense of style.

The buckle is slightly domed as the turquoise inlay portion stands just above the rest of the piece. Also notable is the thick cut out portion that swirls through the center of the buckle.

From a New York City collection of fine Native American jewelry, this Zuni buckle measures 3 1/8" x 2 3/8". It fits a 1 3/8" belt strap and is hallmarked on the reverse.
