Vintage Three Strand Melon Shell Necklace With Turquoise Nuggets

This vintage three strand necklace is from Santo Domingo (Kewa) Pueblo. It's a beautiful combination of colors as the teeny heishi beads are melon shell and the turquoise nuggets are a deep blue green. It gives you a little bit of peach and varying shades of blue and green. 

The glassy turquoise nuggets have been stabilized, so they're strong, they'll maintain their color, and you don't have to worry about them chipping or breaking as easily. That makes this necklace the perfect traveling companion - it's less likely break and with its more affordable price, you don't have to worry as much about losing it.

Necklace hangs in an elegant graduated manner 16.5" in length. It's strung on string and closes with a Pueblo wrap.
