About the Piece:

This vintage sterling silver and labradorite necklace falls outside my usual focus on Native American jewelry, but I was so taken with it that I couldn't pass it by.

The substantial necklace is a one-of-a-kind piece by Stephen Dweck. At its center is a glassy, opalescent labradorite cabochon that catches the light with a magical glow. It's hard to take your eyes off of it!

The statement necklace comes to me from a major collector of Native American jewelry with a keen eye for pairing Indigenous work with pieces by other accomplished jewelers.
This necklace was worn to the Santa Fe Opera alongside work by Sonwai and Gail Bird and Yazzie Johnson.

It certainly has the presence to stand alone with elegance, but it's so fun to try interesting combinations.

The necklace measures 18" from end to end. The sterling silver chain is 5/8" wide and the labradorite stone is 1 7/8" long x 1 1/4" wide. It's signed, dated and numbered on the back: Stephen Dweck, Sterling, One Of A Kind, 1997 and 6180.
