About the Piece: This is a superb and substantial Navajo ring handmade of three turquoise stones.
The vintage ring appears large and showy on the hand. It's a simple handmade piece, really, but the design is so much more than the sum of its parts. On either side, the wide silver band has been split into six different horizontal strands giving the ring a modernist linear quality. Then, three turquoise stones, kept in their organic shapes are set in a vertical line with silver beads and wire work in between. It's a sculptural and eye-catching design, totally unique.
The ring is one of the final additions from a collection of beloved jewelry that belonged to a former New York City model. It makes sense that she'd have something so well-done.
Turquoise ring is a size 8 1/4 with a face that is just shy of 1 1/2".
Unsigned except for what appears to be an etched four-letter code, possibly a trader or dealer's code.
