Vintage Navajo Repousse Bracelet

Repousse, like what you see in this handmade Navajo bracelet, is a traditional Navajo technique that is also entirely rock n' roll. 

The raised shapes that you see on this thick, heavy gauge silver cuff are repousse. They're created by stamping and hammering the designs from the back of the bracelet. The resulting 3 dimensional shapes are both edgy and cool. Even the inside of the bracelet is meticulously stamped with repeating designs.

While it's a more recent vintage piece, this bracelet looks fantastic worn stacked with even early Navajo cuffs. Try it out, and you'll see.

The repousse bracelet comes to Turquoise & Tufa from a couple that collected Native American jewelry for more than fifty years. They acquired this piece in the later days of their collecting journey. 

It measures 5 1/8" inside plus a 1 1/4" opening that can be gently opened or closed to fit better. It has a 1 1/2" width and is stamped "RA" with the artist's initials. 

The bracelet has gained a bit of a patina over the past two decades, but it will ship with a polishing cloth so you can make it look shiny and new if you so desire.
