Vintage Navajo or Pueblo Raised Inlay Corn Bracelet of Turquoise and Shell
Vintage Navajo or Pueblo Raised Inlay Corn Bracelet of Turquoise and Shell
This is an interesting vintage cuff. The handmade bracelet is either Navajo or Pueblo made. Stylistically, it shares elements with both.
The bracelet is heavy-gauge, thick silver, and it's set with raised stones of hand cut turquoise, white shell and mother of pearl. These stones represent corn, one of the traditional Native American "Three Sisters" along with beans and squash.Â
This bracelet has a simple and unusual style that looks appealing both alone and when stacked.
It comes from the collection of a board member from Crow Canyon Archaeological Center. It's been worn and loved but can easily be restored to its original silver sheen with a polishing cloth.
Bracelet measures 5 3/8" inside plus 15/16" opening. Width is 7/16" and height is 1/4". Unsigned.Â
