Vintage Navajo Cuff With Turquoise Stone and Leaf Work

About the Piece:

This ornate Navajo cuff bracelet is a study in classic Navajo silversmithing techniques and design but updated with a little bit of contemporary flair. Let's start with the turquoise stone - it has a wonderfully organic feel in its shape and in the semi-translucent areas of host rock that appear in copious amounts. I LOVE this stone! Everything else exists to highlight it, and there are lots of highlights:

1. carinated silver wire bands
2. twisted silver wire bands
3. silver leaf work
4. stamp work
5. one single silver bead

All together, the cuff is feminine and decorative without being excessive.

It's hallmarked "WT" on the reverse and from a New York collection. It measures 5 1/4" inside plus 1" opening. It has a 1 1/8" width and a nice substantial weight to it.
