Vintage Kewa Mosaic Inlay Tab Necklace

Here's a lovely vintage necklace from Kewa or Santo Domingo Pueblo. It's a single strand necklace of hand-strung heishi beads interspersed with five handmade mosaic inlay tabs that are gently graduated in size.

The earthy colors are beautifully muted except for the bright blue-green turquoise. There's clay red, cream, olive and brown. The mosaic inlay tabs are turquoise and pipestone set on serpentine while the heishi strand itself is clam shell and melon shell with accents of turquoise, serpentine and pipestone. 

The look is softer and subdued compared to other Kewa tab necklaces that make use of vivid red, black, and bright white. 

The necklace measures 23" from end to end, with the longest tab measuring 1 3/8". Unsigned.
