Vintage Hand Beaded Child's Hat Band

In the spirit of all things seed bead, beloved matron of Native American art Martha Struever kept a small stash of little hand beaded accessories in colors and/or styles that she enjoyed.

This vintage hand-beaded child's hat band shows Marti's ability to use unexpected accents for the sake of fashion. It's beaded using black yellow and red beads against a white background. The ends are leather hide so that it can be tied on. You don't have to be a child to wear it as long as the circumference of your hat is smaller than this band.

If you don't wear hats, not to worry, you can use it as a headband too. This sweet piece measures 27 1/2" from end to end with a 7/16" width. It's in great vintage condition with some age marks on the hide.
