In the creative and diverse realm of Southwestern Native American jewelry, there's really something for everyone. You can find small and understated jewelry as well as bold and colorful. This Frank Yellowhorse pendant easily falls into the stand out category because it's big, spirited and strong.

The pendant measures 5 1/2" long. Yes, you read that right. 5 1/2" long! That's not including the bale which adds on another 5/8".

This impressive pendant is completely handmade. Each of those little tiny stone sections was hand cut and then meticulously set into place in a lively mosaic pattern.

Frank Yellowhorse created this silver pendant in a stylized katchina figure motif. The round top inlay section with a little sunface is the head adorned with a silver manta or headdress. The bottom dangle portion of the pendant is the inlaid and feather-shaped body.

It's a complex piece that makes use of stones like orange and lilac spiny oyster along with light blue sleeping beauty turquoise that are gently muted shades. They're combined with bold black jet, deep green malachite, and royal blue lapis to give it a distinctive color pattern.

You may have heard of Alvin Yellowhorse, an acclaimed contemporary jeweler. Frank Yellowhorse is Alvin's father and teacher.

You'll enjoy finding ways to wear Frank's pendant. The bale's opening is large enough to wear this with your 3/8" diameter Navajo pearls or silver beads. If you'd like even more color, hang it from your turquoise, coral or spiny oyster beads. Whatever you choose, you're sure to put on a show!

The vintage Navajo pendant is signed on the reverse.
