Norbert Peshlakai Silver Pin With Happy Dog Under Yellow Sun
Norbert Peshlakai Silver Pin With Happy Dog Under Yellow Sun
Pet lover and Native art lover? Then you'll adore this handmade sterling silver pin by Navajo artist Norbert Peshlakai. The circular pin is an early Norbert Peshlakai piece, and it depicts a happy dog roaming free under a round yellow sun. The piece has two parts - an upper part that holds the sun and what looks to be a horse enclosure and a lower dangling part on which the dog stands.
You might expect that a piece such great design would come from the private collection of our special friend Martha Hopkins Struever, and it does! In fact, Marti Struever gave Norbert Peshlakai one of his first shows at her Chicago gallery. She fell in love with his work very early on and continued to both collect and sell many Norbert Peshlakai. The very best were those that Marti added to her private collection.
This totally unique piece measures 2" diameter. It's signed on the front with Norbert Peshlakai's hallmark.
