Navajo Dangle Earrings of Corn With Mokume Gane By Shane Hendren
Navajo Dangle Earrings of Corn With Mokume Gane By Shane Hendren
Here's a cool pair of earrings by award winning Navajo jeweler Shane Hendren known for his innovative designs.
This pair of silver dangle earrings is a stylized take on corn plants. Shane Hendren combined two different techniques in the creation of these earrings - tufa casting, a traditional Navajo process of jewelry making, and mokume-gane, which is an old Japanese method that involves fusing different metals like copper, silver and gold. The resulting pair of earrings is entirely unique, very contemporary with a little bit of rock and roll!
Each earring measures 2 1/2" long from top of hook to bottom of corn plant by 5/8" wide. Each earring is also signed on the reverse.
Wearing this pair of earrings will allow you to mix your metals in new and fun ways.
