Navajo Clem Nalwood Amethyst Squash Blossom Necklace
Navajo Clem Nalwood Amethyst Squash Blossom Necklace
You'll be southwestern royalty in this original and contemporary squash blossom necklace by Navajo jeweler Clem Nalwood.
Rather than set with turquoise, each sterling silver blossom segment is set with a sparkling faceted purple amethyst stone. The back is left open to let the light shine through. The silver naja too is set with amethysts, one left to freely dangle.
It's such a creative take on the much beloved squash blossom necklace.
Clem Nalwood's handmade jewelry is a way to celebrate your love of Native jewelry while wearing something a little more unusual from the genre, and if you're nutty about the color purple, you're probably already smitten.
Clem created a few other Amethyst pieces of jewelry that go together perfectly as a set. There's also a a bracelet and a ring sold separately to match your squash necklace.
Artwork like Clem Nalwood's emphasizes just how much originality and diversity there is in the world of Native American jewelry, which is so often reduced to a single style and a single stone.
This luscious squash blossom necklace measures 25" from end to end plus a 2 1/4" long naja (with that dangling stone). The hook and eye closure is adjustable, so if you'd like to wear it shorter you can. Signed on a sterling silver tag hanging from the necklace.
