Miniature Hopi Canteen By Loren Ami

Here is one of Marti Struever's beloved miniatures from her personal collection. This one is a mini canteen by Hopi potter Loren Ami, who learned from one of Marti's favorite Hopi potters - Dextra Quotskuyva.

The polychrome canteen is painted with a butterfly. Notice that the butterfly of the body is painted in a shape that appears to be corn. So sweet. The little canteen measures 2 1/2" diameter x 2" height. The piece is signed on the reverse. Please note that it will not come with the strap as Marti removed it.
