Catalog from a 1996 show at The Heard Museum featuring paintings from 21 Native Americans in the James T. Bialac collection.
According to Bialac, "I collect them for their beauty and honesty."
"Since 1964, James T. Bialac has actively collected Native American arat including more than 1200 paintings, an extensive collection of Hopi kachina dollas and outstanding pieces of sculpture, silver and ceramics. Sharing his personal collection is very important to Bialac, and paintings from his collection hang in public buildings around the state including at the Arizona Supreme Court, the Federal Court, the Court of Appeals in Phoenix and Tucson, and at both the Arizona State University and University of Arizona law schools. Jim Bialac has also enhanced the Heard Museum's collection, donating to the museum major pieces from his personal collection.
