Alberto Contreras Sr. Silver and Turquoise Pin

This pretty sterling silver pin set with a single round turquoise cab is by master silversmith Alberto Contreras Senior. While Alberto Contreras was not Native American, his work is only a few degrees separated from some of the modernist Native jewelry that we carry, so it bears offering.

Alberto Contreras Sr. was trained by master silversmith Frank Patania Sr. in the late 1940's. Frank Patania Sr. influenced and was heavily influenced by the Native American jewelers employed by his Thunderbird Shop in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This modernist pin measures 1 3/4" x 1" and is signed with Contreras' original AC hallmark.
