Sterling Silver Inlaid Bear Pendant by Fernando Benally
A heavy gauge sterling silver medicine bear pendant is as charming as it is meaningful. The dressy pendant is by contemporary Navajo jeweler Fernando Benally, whose work is inspired by reservation life with his family.
The piece is elegantly decorated of slightly raised black jet channel set inlay in a shape reminiscent of mountains. Symbols of corn, rain, stars and a sun are further adornment. The sun and one of the stars have a hole cut through the center. At first glance, the holes appear to be sparkly inset diamonds.
The pendant measures 2" (from top of bale to bottom of bear's feet) by 1 3/4". It is gracefully curved to hang beautifully around the neck.
The back of the pendant is hallmarked with Fernando Benally's initials along with additional symbol details.
