Vintage Turquoise Ring in Brass By Tony Aguilar Sr.
This ring is one of our FAVORITE Tony Aguilar Sr. pieces! It just looks so amazing on the finger! The large ring is set with 6 natural turquoise stones, so you get your turquoise fix, but the ring itself is brass so it's unlike most Native American rings out there.
Also unusual is the way the turquoise stones are seemingly haphazardly set into the elongated rectangular shape and sprinkled with a smattering of brass beads. The result is a truly unique statement piece that we cannot get enough of.
The late Tony Aguilar, who handmade the ring is the real deal! He was from Kewa or Santo Domingo Pueblo, and his jewelry is incredibly distinctive due, in part, to the influence of Middle Eastern art designs Tony Aguilar noticed while serving in Iran during the Second World War.
The ring is a size 6 1/2 (but can easily be sized) to fit. It's hallmarked on the inside with Tony's hallmark, and the face measures a full 1 3/4" long.
Let us know if we can show you any additional views of this ring. We love it so much, and we just know you will too!
