These silver tufa cast earrings are modernist in style by Sedelio Fidel Lovato of Santo Domingo or Kewa Pueblo, who heavily influenced the tufa cast style of Native American jewelry. In fact, renowned Hopi jeweler Preston Monongye studied Sedelio Lovato's work.

These earrings are simple squares of silver - left smooth on 1/3 of each earring and oxidized and textured on the other 2/3's. They're pure in form and really special.

They belonged to Martha Hopkins Struever, an iconic American Indian art dealer, collector and scholar.

They measure 3/4" and are posts for pierced ears. Marti Struever's notes indicate that they are signed with an "S" on the reverse of the earring, but nearly impossible to see due to the heavily textured background.
